(Stillwater, Okla.) — A 23-year-old woman, who previously lived in Cushing, was arraigned Wednesday on felony charges accusing her of attacking three female nurses in the Stillwater Medical Center emergency room where she was being treated.
Jocelyn Clarice Castillo of Stillwater was ordered jailed on $3,000 bail pending a May 10 court appearance with an attorney on three counts of assault and battery upon an emergency medical care provider.
If convicted of the three-count charge, Castillo could be given a six-year prison term and a $3,000 fine, court records show.
According to an affidavit by Stillwater Police Officer Kurt Merrill, at 7:25 pm on April 6 Castillo was being treated in the SMC emergency room when she allegedly became combative with the staff.
She head-butted one nurse, punched a second nurse and scratched a third nurse, the affidavit alleged.
According to Lincoln County court records, Castillo had been charged in September of 2022 with hitting a woman’s head with a vape in Agra with whom she was then living.
Castillo was given a 53-day jail term for misdemeanor domestic abuse in November of 2022 plus a $100 fine and a $100 contribution to the victim’s compensation fund, court records show.
