(Stillwater, Okla.) — A 21-year-old woman, who was reportedly asked to leave a Perkins residence where she had briefly stayed with an ex-boyfriend, has been ordered to appear in court on June 28 on a felony charge of assault and battery on Perkins Police Officer Jason Thompson.
Jordan Marie Haney, who allegedly kicked the officer repeatedly and twice threatened to murder him, was arrested at 2:49 am on May 28 outside a house on N.W. First Street in Perkins, the affidavit said.
A resident of the Perkins house said, “she is a pill user and is high at this moment and they have zero tolerance for that and that’s why she was told to go,” the affidavit alleged. The resident told the officer, “She doesn’t live here, and we don’t want her here,” the affidavit said.
After Haney was placed in custody, the officer alleged in his affidavit, “I told Haney to either give her other hand or put her hands behind her back 44 times and told her to stop kicking me four times. I would estimate she kicked me 12-15 times. The struggle to get her under control lasted four minutes and 44 seconds.”
Haney, who reportedly had marijuana in her bag, said “she has a medical marijuana card for the marijuana, but she did not have the card on her currently.
“I asked about any ailments that the medical marijuana would be used for, and she said that she had depression, bipolar and schizophrenia,” the officer alleged in his affidavit.
While being taken to the Payne County Jail, “After things calmed down in the car, Haney did advise she was homeless and just came here to get a roof over her head. Haney also advised that she is going to rehab June 09, 2023.
“On the car ride, Haney also said, ‘I’m not trying to get out of it obviously, but I just wanted to apologize.’ Also, that she hasn’t been on her meds since she last left rehab, and she was trying to hold out from them until the next time she goes to rehab,” the affidavit alleged.
Haney was held in the Payne County Jail for five days until she posted $7,500 bail on June 2 when she listed a Henryetta address, court records show.
If convicted of assault and battery on a police officer, Haney could be given as much as a five-year prison term.
