Wilfred H. Dailey, a longtime Creek County resident, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2008 in the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK at the age of 87 years. Funeral services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Oilton and will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 in the First Baptist Church in Oilton with Burial to follow in the Highland Cemetery, Oilton, OK.
The son of the late Hampton H. Dailey and Erma V. (Cornelison) Dailey, Wilfred was born on February 10, 1921 in Creek County. While living with his parents, Wilfred lived in several communities in Creek County but graduated from Oilton High School. He was united in marriage to Lillie Belle Lorette on July 17, 1939 in Stroud, OK.
During WW II, Wilfred served as a Master Sergeant in the United States Army in Europe and the Philippines.
Wilfred retired in 1987 from South West Tube which was located in Sand Springs, OK but many family and friends will remember him as an oilfield worker and a cattle rancher. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Oilton and when he was able he enjoyed fishing and quail hunting.
Survivors include his five children, Sam Dailey and his wife LaWanna of Ellisville, MO, Erma Belle Bryan and her husband Gerald of Jackson, MO, John Dailey and his wife Cindy of Bentonville, Arkansas, Jerry Dailey and his wife Phyllis of Drumright, and Mary Barton and her husband Allen of Drumright; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren with one more great-granddaughter on the way; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Wilfred was preceded in death by his wife Lillie Belle, one daughter, LaDonna Dailey, and one brother, Jack Dailey.
