Aaron Houtchens joined the KUSH girls on the Jan. 22nd for Tiger Time on the Donna and Molly Show.
Houtchens is a senior at Cushing High School and is currently serving as NHS president and is active in the Spanish Club, Drama and the Academic Team. Following graduation, he plans on continuing his education at OU pursuing a career in medicine.
Here’s the news Houtchen shared with listeners:
Student Council at CHS is collecting money fo the Haitian Relief fund. Boxes will be in classrooms until Monday.
CHS wrestlers won their match against McLoud.
Shandee Allen is attending All-State Chorus try-outs.
Spirit week will be the week of Jan. 25th – 29th. Monday is Moustache day, Tuesday is Wrestling Homecoming T-shirt day, Wednesday is Crawl Out of Bed day, Thursday is Dress Like Your Favorite Teacher or Senior day and Friday is Basketball Homecoming T-shirt day.
(Houtchens was especially interested in the “Dress like your favorite teacher or senior ” day…he wondered if anyone would dress like him. I could totally relate to his curiosity.)
Later this semester, CHS students will be participating in the State Special Olympics. There are well over 30 students going and the cost of each student attending is approximately $100. Some classes are selling cookies, pickles and recycling products to raise money. Donations are also being accepted. If anyone would like to make a donation, contact the high school office at (918) 225-6622.
Tune in each Friday morning from 8 – 8:30 on the Donna and Molly Show to hear Tiger Time. Each week high school students visit with the KUSH girls and talk about what is going on at school.
