(Stillwater, Okla.) — Two Stillwater residents, who were investigated by Stillwater Police Detective Stephanie Wheeler, were sentenced to prison last week for possessing child pornography.
David Paul Willson Jr., 25, who pleaded guilty, was given eight years’ incarceration followed by seven years of probation with an order to register as a sex offender, as part of an agreement with Payne County Assistant District Attorney Erica Garuccio.
The prosecutor dropped additional counts of possessing visual depictions of sexual conduct between a human and animal and also violating the Oklahoma Computer Crime Act, as part of a plea bargain approved in court by Payne County Associate District Judge Michael Kulling on Oct. 17.
An investigation of Willson began on Jan. 17 after “Google reported that an individual had uploaded/sent apparent child sexual abuse material,” the detective’s affidavit said.
“Ten videos of child sexual abuse material were uploaded totaling approximately three hours of child sexual abuse material,” the affidavit said.
After various search warrants were served regarding his accounts, Willson told the detective, “He was on a free, public forum that he was using to look for certain models he likes. When he was on the forum, he located a link. The link contained the child sexual abuse material from the Google account.
“He then downloaded the content from the link onto his device. Once it was downloaded on the device, he then uploaded it to his Google account. He did not watch the video in its entirety but enough to know that it involved child pornography.
“He was planning on deleting it the next day. When he went to access his Google account, it had already been deactivated by Google,” the affidavit said.
In a separate case last week, Danielle Marie Carr, 29, who was convicted at a September trial, was given a jury-recommended nine-year prison term for distributing child pornography, with concurrent sentences of five years in prison for possessing child pornography and six months in jail for engaging in bestiality.
Carr was ordered to register as a sex offender on her release from prison.
