(Stillwater, Okla.) — A 23-year-old Stillwater man has been ordered to appear in court on Nov. 7 on charges of possessing and distributing child pornography.
If convicted of both counts, Nicholas Kyle Ross could be given a 30-year prison and fined $45,000.
Ross was released from the Payne County Jail on Sept. 8 on $25,000 bail with the condition that he have no unsupervised access to electronics.
Ross had been arrested at his residence on Sept. 7, according to an affidavit by Stillwater Police Detective Stephanie Wheeler.
The detective had been notified on June 8 of a cyber tip from MediaLab/Kik that “an individual had uploaded/shared apparent child sexual abuse material,” the affidavit said.
Ross was subsequently identified as the suspect, who possessed and distributed child pornography between May 5 and May 7, the affidavit alleged.
