(Cushing, Okla.) Jim Pickard, President of the local Cushing Chapter of Lions Club International, called the meeting to order today at 12:18 p.m. The agenda started with song and pledge by Lion Jerry Snyder. This was followed by prayer requests for local families along with prayer by Lion and Reverend Kevin Clouse.
Clouse thanked the Lion’s Club for books that he had been given to promote Children’s Literacy.
Lion Tom Cummings recognized Past Lion’s Club President, Terry Brannon with a Club Excellence award pin. (Clubs that receive a Club Excellence award get a distinguished banner patch to proudly display on their banner and the club president receives a Club Excellence Pin.)
Lion Lou Griffin then introduced Richard Hawkins, Chairman of Distinguished Young Women (Payne County) who then introduced Madison Weiser, State Representative for Distinguished Young Women (March 8, 2014). Madison is a senior at Stillwater High School in Stillwater, Oklahoma and is interested in Psychology and Business. When Madison finishes high school, the University of Virginia is high on her list.
The 50/50 raffle had $29.00 in it today.
The meeting adjourned around 12:45 (p.m.) with a short Board Meeting that followed.
Cushing Lions Club meets each Tuesday at noon in the Lion’s Den in downtown Cushing.
