(Stillwater, Okla.) — A sexual battery charge was dismissed by the prosecution Friday against a former Cushing man, who had been scheduled to have a jury trial this week, court records show.
Mark Douglas Haskins, 39, of Stillwater, had been found mentally competent in December of 2021 to face a charge of sexually touching a female friend in Stillwater on Jan. 4, 2021, court records show.
“Mark told (her) he suffered from a traumatic brain injury caused by a motor vehicle accident, which left him unable to drive. (She) occasionally provided Mark with transportation to church in Perkins and to visit his children in Oklahoma City,” the affidavit alleged.
Haskins had also been found mentally competent in December of 2021 to face a charge of hitting a 10-year-old female relative in the face, chest and side followed by pushing her to the ground on May 14, 2020, in Stillwater, court records show. That child abuse charge was dismissed by the prosecution a year ago, court records show.
