(Lubbock, TX) — The Oklahoma Sooners stumbled big in Lubbock, and are out of the BCS Title picture again. Oklahoma fell to Texas Tech in Waco 34-27. Although the Sooners still have a good shot at the Big 12 South Title, the 2nd loss to an unranked opponent this season will drop Oklahoma out of the national title picture. On Thursday, the 2nd ranked Oregon Ducks were knocked off at Arizona, setting the stage for Oklahoma to move back into contention for the big enchilada. But somebody forgot to send the memo to Graham Harrell and the Red Raiders. Harrell picked apart the Oklahoma defense for 420 yards and two touchdowns.

Texas Tech took the lead in the first quarter, and Oklahoma could not muster any offense after starting quarterback Sam Bradford was knocked out of the game with a possible concussion.

The loss puts Oklahoma (9-2, 5-2) in a tie for first place in the Big 12 South with Texas, but the Sooners hold the tiebreaker with a win over the Longhorns back in October. Oklahoma hosts Oklahoma State next Saturday. A loss in that game, coupled with a Texas win over Texas A&M would send Texas into the Big 12 Title game against the winner of next weeks Kansas-Missouri game.
