(Cushing, Okla.)  The Piecemaker’s quilt show held last week-end was considered a huge success by not only those involved, but those attending.  Member Carolyn Allison said one of the highlights was the presentation of a Quilt of Valor to Gary Todd of Drumright.  “It was a surprise to him,” Allison said.  “His family was present for the presentation.”

Todd served 2 1/2 tours in Vietnam during his total service from 1964 to 1987.  He was on fleet two years and wrote the NATO Exercise, Allison told KUSH.  President of the Piecemakers of Cushing Quilt Guild Stacey Bogle presented the quilt to Todd.

Other highlights included the “Best of Show” awarded to Martha Ray of Pawnee.  Her machine appliqued quilt titled “Fairies in the Forest” exemplified the talent on display at this year’s quilt show.

The donation quilt – “Autumn Splendor” was won by Roger Morris of Tulsa.

The Piecemakers of Cushing Quilt Guild meet the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Church of Christ located at 9th and Linwood in Cushing.  Click here to visit their website: www.piecemakersofcushing.com
