(Stillwater) – Officials with the Payne County Election Board say it’s been extremely busy on the first day of in-person absentee voting. Payne County Election Board Secretary Glenna Craig says the turnout has been more than double four years ago. With an hour to go before the absentee voting board closes for the evening, more than 1600 people had cast ballots.
In-person absentee voting continues Saturday and Monday. On Saturday, polling will take place from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. On Monday, polling will take place from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Other election board offices have reported heavy turnout for early voting as well.
