Otis G. Earp, retired pipeline welder, passed away Monday, November 3, 2008 in the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 77 years.

The son of the late Otto Earp and Fannie Cummings Earp, Otis was born on December 9, 1930 in Avery, OK and was raised and educated in the Stroud schools. Following High School he entered the United States Army, serving his country during World War II.

` He was united in marriage to Dorothy JaNell King on February 19, 1961 in Cushing and to this union one son David Earp was born. JaNell preceded him in death on June 15, 1983.

He was united in marriage to Ruth Criner on January 12, 1985.

In addition to his welding, he enjoyed raising cattle and was bee keeper.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth, of the home; one son, David Earp, of Oklahoma City, OK; one step-son, Gary Criner, of Norman, OK; one sister, Elsie F. Holton, and her husband Ray, of Modesto, CA; one grand-daughter, Catie Earp, of Oklahoma City, OK; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by one brother Ray Earp.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, Nov. 7, 2008 at 3 P.M. in the Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Kevin Clouse, pastor of the First Church of God, officiating.
