(Cushing, Okla.) The following information is a preliminary collision report furnished by the Department of Public Safety.
A personal injury collision occurred on September 29th (2015), at approximately 8:01 (am), on SH33 at 433rd West Avenue, about 7 miles east of Drumright, in Creek County.
Mark Olsen (19) of Mannford was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Pickup eastbound on S H 33 when he struck a 2012 Peterbilt tractor and trailer driven by Lantz Bateman (27) of Jennings in the rear of the trailer. Bateman was southbound at the time on 433rd West Avenue, making a turn eastbound on SH33.
Olsen was pinned for approximately 28 minutes before being extricated by Olive Fire using the “Jaws of Life”. After being freed Olsen was transported by Mediflight to OU Medical Center (OKC) where he was admitted in good condition with leg injuries. Bateman was not injured.
The DPS report shows speed to be the cause of collision.
