(Cushing, Okla.) The following information is based on a preliminary collision report furnished by the Department of Public Safety (DPS).
A personal injury collision occurred on October 5th (2018) at approximately 12:07 pm on SH18 at McElroy, located 2.5 miles west and 1 mile north of Yale, in Payne County.
Daniel Tyler Melvin Maxwell (19) of Yale was driving a 1998 Chevrolet pickup when he failed to yield from a stop sign and pulled in front of Lena Kay Greenfield (40) of Cushing. Greenfield was driving a 2010 Dodge Caravan.
Maxwell was transported by AirEvac to St. Francis (Tulsa) and his passenger, Maria Araceli Trejo (20) of Cushing, was transported by ambulance to Stillwater Medical Center then transferred on to OU Medical Center (OKC).
Greenfield was transported by ambulance to Stillwater Medical Center with her injury and her passenger, a juvenile male (15) of Cushing, was also transported by ambulance to Stillwater Medical Center where he was treated and released.
According to the DPS report not all seat-belts were in use.
