(Cushing, Okla.) The following information is a preliminary collision report furnished by the Department of Public Safety.
A personal injury collision occurred on July 26th (2015) at approximately 3:31 (pm) on 44th Street about one half mile west of Mt. Vernon Road, and approximately 3.5 miles north, and 2.5 miles east of Ripley, in Payne County.
Michelle Mauk (32) of Cushing was driving a 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan westbound on 44th street when she failed to negotiate a curve and departed the roadway to the left. The Volkswagen went through a fence and struck a tree.
Mauk was transported by POV to Stillwater Medical Center, and then by LifeNet (EMS) to OU Medical Center (OKC) where she was admitted in stable condition. The three juvenile passengers (ages 12, 10 and 2) were all transported by POV to Stillwater Medical Center where two of them were treated and released and the third was taken by LifeNet (EMS) to OU Medical Center (OKC) where he was admitted in stable condition.
The DPS report states that the collision was caused by failure (failed) to negotiate a curve/DUI. The report also shows seat-belts were equipped in the vehicle but not in use, and that the condition of the driver was impaired.
