Helene Marie Winkcompleck, a longtime Payne County resident and an avid camper, went to meet the Lord on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 69 years.

Funeral services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK and will be held on Monday, July 28, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.

She was born June 27, 1939 in Tahlequah, OK to Claude Campbell and Faye (Stephens) Campbell. She married Jack Simonson in June of 1958. She then married Wes Winkcompleck in February of 1963 and later married Bill Petty in July of 2004.

Helene had lived in several towns in Oklahoma while growing up but graduated from Hollister, OK with the class of 1958. She eventually moved to Cushing where she worked for the hospital in Cushing for over 20 years. In her spare time Helene enjoyed doing puzzle books, camping, going on picnics with family and collecting various items including thimbles.

Helene was preceded in death by her father Claude Campbell, step-mother Rosie (Taylor) Campbell, one son, Christopher Winkcompleck and two husbands Jack Simonson and Wes Winkcompleck.

She is survived by her mother Faye Hagens of Wynnewood, OK; husband Bill Petty of Yale, OK; three sisters, Claudia Jones and her husband Roy of Okemah, OK, Dixie LaBrue and her husband Paul of Goddard, KS, and Sandra Regier and her husband Ed of Enid, OK; three daughters, Tamala Belote and her husband Richard of Cushing, OK, Diane Hennan and her husband Bruce of Quanah, TX, and Angie Carter and her husband Randy of Yale, OK; two sons, Charles Simonson and his wife La’Rhonda of Shamrock, OK and Tony Winkcompleck of Arkansas City, KS; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren with two more on the way; two special friends, Beverly Dennis of Yale, OK and Margaret England of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
