(Cushing, Okla) According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports at 2:02 (pm) this afternoon an accident occurred. It happened when the 2007 Kenworth concrete truck that was being driven by Terry Pruitt (48), Sapulpa, was east bound on Highway 33 while the 2007 Ford F150 Truck driven by Jedidiah Cross (29), Cushing, was north bound. Cross was stopped at the stop sign on Harmony Road when Pruitt’s vehicle attempted to make the turn south onto Harmony Road. Cross’s vehicle backed up to give the 2007 Kenworth Concrete Truck more room to make the turn. However, the concrete truck was traveling too fast to properly make the turn and consequently overturned, striking Cross’s vehicle.

Pruitt was trapped for a short period of time but was freed by Cushing Fire Department when they used the cutter on his 2007 Kenworth.

Pruitt was then transported by Air Evac to St. Johns Hospital (Tulsa) where he was admitted in critical condition. Cross was not injured in the accident according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports.

Reportedly the accident was caused by unsafe speed in turn.

Seat-belts were in use in both vehicles.
