(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Glencoe man — who was incarcerated two months ago for violating his 15-year drug probationary sentence — has been given two concurrent five-year prison terms for eluding a sheriff’s deputy and concealing a stolen mower.

John Leroy Domeny, 38, who had previously been imprisoned for a 1997 burglary in Payne County, was sentenced last week by Associate District Judge Stephen Kistler in accordance with a plea bargain with the prosecution.

Domeny pleaded guilty Friday to eluding Payne County Sheriff’s Deputy Bobby Miller on May 31, 2013, and driving in a dangerous manner that endangered the safety of Miller and Deputy Paul Fox.

Domeny also pleaded guilty Friday to knowingly concealing a stolen John Deere zero turn mower on Jan. 28, 2014.

Domeny had been charged with knowingly concealing a brass triplex head of a salt water disposal pump on June 28, 2013, that had been stolen from Wheatley Equipment — a felony that was dropped by the prosecution on Aug. 29.

Domeny had also been charged with illegally possessing a rifle and a shotgun on Oct. 15, 2013, as a convicted felon — a case that was also dropped by the prosecution on Aug. 29.

Four years ago, Domeny had been placed on 15 years’ probation for possessing methamphetamine and marijuana at his residence in Stillwater in 2009.

Two months ago, District Judge Phillip Corley ruled that he had violated his probation and changed the balance of his sentence to prison.

Four years ago, Domeny was also placed on five years’ probation for possessing methamphetamine, marijuana and also a firearm during the commission of a felony in Stillwater in 2008.

Domeny had previously served about half of a three-year prison term for second-degree burglary in 1997 in Payne County, after his probation was revoked in 1998, state Department of Corrections records show.
