(Stillwater, Okla.) — A 44-year-old Glencoe man, who has been jailed since his arrest on July 12, 2022, by Payne County Sheriff’s Investigator Lew Kellison, avoided a jury trial today by pleading guilty to six counts of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl, court records show.
Bobby Lee Hankins Jr. was given six concurrent 18-year prison terms this morning by District Judge Phillip Corley for two counts of lewd molestation, one count of rape by instrumentation, one count of forcible oral sodomy, one count of first-degree rape, and one count of child sexual abuse, court records show.
On his release from prison, Hankins must serve 12 years of probation, register as a sex offender and provide a DNA sample, court records show.
Hankins had faced the possibility of a life prison term without parole if convicted of his rape counts at a jury trial, court records show.
The girl’s mother reported to the Payne County Sheriff’s Office on July 8, 2022, the 13-year-old told her that Hankins sexually assaulted her while she was visiting a friend in his home, the affidavit said.
Hankins was arrested by the sheriff’s investigator after he observed a forensic interview of the girl on July 12, 2022, the affidavit said.
