(Cushing, Okla) The Lachenmeyer Arts Center is pleased to announce its roster of artists for the 28th annual Festival in the Park. The following artists are competing for $1000 in prize money.
Two artists are new to the Festival this year. Sam Bretz of El Reno, will be exhibiting 3D printed sculptures. Some even glow in the dark. Salye Gorrell of Enid will be displaying paintings and drawings. She works in Acrylic, Oil, Watercolor and Pencil.
Returning painters to the Festival will be James Edwards and Rory Morgan of Edmond, Earnestine Hodo, Brittany Pittser and Liz Wilson of Cushing. Also returning is Nell Maxwell of Tryon. Sheila Minnich of Midwest City will also return with her paintings and pastels.
Award winning photographer Randy Watkins of Cushing will be displaying his color photographs.
In the three dimensional category returning artists are Yusuf Etudaiye of Tulsa who will display his clay creations. M.J. Henderson-Smith of Cushing will display her silver jewelry and silk scarves. Bob Holderby of Okemah is back with his metal sculptures. Leslie Lewis of Cushing will also be displaying her pine needle baskets and beaded jewelry. Rebecca Bristow of Wyandotte will also be back with fused glass & jewelry.
Cushing Arts & Humanities Council, Drumright Dental Center and RCB Bank are sponsoring the Purchase Award Program. The Purchase Award program is a commitment to buy art before the Festival begins. Anyone can participate. Three people will be eligible to win $250 in purchase awards donated by Cushing Arts & Humanities Council, Drumright Dental Center and RCB Bank.
