Staff reports
(Drumright, Okla.) — It’s April 1st and the opening of the highway in downtown Drumright has been delayed. Good news – the asphalt on the bridge is finished with the exception of the concrete sidewalks and the drainage turn-outs. Bad news, crews were unable to work on Saturday due to low temperatures. It was too cold to lay the polymer asphalt mixture needed to cover the water line trenches at both ends of the construction.
Temperatures are expected to improve throughout the day and again tomorrow, lending hope the road will be able to open mid-week.
We’ll keep you posted!
