(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Drumright man convicted of concealing stolen property in Kingfisher County in 2012 has been charged with property crimes in Payne and Creek counties in 2019, court records show.

An arrest warrant was issued this month for Stephen Ray Hearrell, 32, who has not yet appeared in Payne County District Court on a felony charge of burglarizing a garage in the 6300 block on S. Perkins Road in rural Stillwater.

In the case filed two weeks ago, Payne County Sheriff’s Deputy Scott Hopper had responded on Aug. 7, 2019, to a burglary report that tools and wheels had been stolen from a garage by suspects breaking the automatic garage opener, an affidavit said.

Two weeks later on Aug. 19, 2019, “the victim in the case contacted Deputy Hopper and reported that the garage was again broken into,” Payne County Sheriff’s Investigator Brandon Myers wrote in an affidavit.

The owner said “their Toro-brand zero turn lawn mower valued at $3,500-4,000 was stolen from inside the garage,” the affidavit said.

“He reported that he had placed two trail-style cameras by the shop and had got the suspects on camera,” the affidavit said.

“I reviewed the photos. I was able to positively identify one of the suspects as Stephen Hearrell whom I have had past dealings with and is a suspect in other stolen property cases,” the Payne County sheriff’s investigator alleged in his affidavit.

At the time of that incident, Hearrell was already facing Creek County charges of knowingly receiving stolen property on Aug. 16, 2019, that allegedly had been taken from Pickens Real Estate and Auction in Stillwater.

The items were described as an HP laptop, an HP laptop charger, a Baofeng UV-5R scanner, Uniden bearcat scanner, auction trailer, P.A. system, two black cash drawers, two walkie talkies, two Brother printers, an Epson Printer/Coper XP-430, APC Back-ups NS1080, two Toshiba laptops, a Compac laptop, and a Kobalt toolbox, according to the charge.

In that Creek County two-count felony case filed on Dec. 23, 2019, Hearrell was also charged with committing a pattern of criminal offenses between July 26, 2019, and Aug. 16, 2019, “that are part of the same plan or scheme in two or more counties of this state.”

Hearrell was released from the Creek County Jail on Feb. 13 on a personal recognizance bond with an order to appear in Drug Court on Aug. 6, court records show.

In another Creek County case filed on Jan. 2, 2020, Hearrell was charged with two counts of second-degree burglary, one count of grand larceny, and one count of being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun.

Hearrell was accused of breaking and entering into a detached garage in rural Creek County between Oct. 24, 2019, and Nov. 24, 2019, a felony punishable by up to seven years in prison on conviction.

Hearrell was also accused of stealing a 2007 Sun Tracker 21-foot pontoon boat with a 2006 Mercury 60 HP motor from the same man in Creek County between Oct. 24, 2019, and Nov. 24, 2019, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison on conviction.

Hearrell was also accused of breaking into a woman’s house through a sliding glass door on south Highway 99 in rural Drumright between Nov. 27, 2019, and Dec. 4, 2019, a felony punishable by up to seven years in prison on conviction.

Hearrell was also accused of possessing at his residence a Hi-Point handgun after having been convicted of concealing stolen property in Kingfisher County in 2012, for which he was placed on five years of probation in 2013.

Hearrell’s gun charge carries a maximum penalty of a 10-year prison term on conviction.

In that four-count felony case in Creek County, Hearrell was released on a personal recognizance bond on Feb. 13 with an order to appear in Drug Court on Aug. 6, court records show.
