(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / 08-14-2020) — On August 13, 2020, at 9:40pm, Stillwater 911 received a call advising an overturned kayak with fishing gear and a pair of boots was found floating in the north end of Boomer Lake. Stillwater Police, Stillwater Fire and Stillwater Emergency Management responded to assist with a search of the lake. A search by boat, drone and helicopter did not locate a drowning victim on the surface of the lake. The search was suspended around 11:00pm due to darkness. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol Dive Team was called in to assist and the search resumed early this morning after daylight.

At 9:30am a drowning victim was located approximately 130 feet from the kayak. The victim has been identified as 28 year old Blake McSparrin of Stillwater.
