(Stillwater, Okla.) — An arrest warrant has been issued for a Cushing woman accused of stealing a man’s wallet and stabbing his roommate the next day at a Stillwater apartment where she reportedly frequently stayed.
If apprehended and convicted of assault and battery with a knife, Brittany Nicole Flint, 27, could be given as much as a 10-year prison term and a $10,000 fine. If convicted of a misdemeanor count of petty larceny, she could be given a six-month jail term and a $500 fine.
The stabbing victim “had a pretty severe bite mark on his left arm and a laceration on his right hand between his first and second knuckle,” when Stillwater Police Officer Damian Neiswanger arrived at his apartment on N. Perkins Road at 6:34 pm on May 6, according to his affidavit.
“I did not locate Brittany in the area surrounding the apartment,” the officer wrote in his affidavit.
The victim “stated that Brittany had been over visiting, and his roommate had accused Brittany of stealing his wallet.
“(The victim) said that he was trying to look into Brittany’s bag to see if the items were there. (He) said that Brittany got her bags and tried to leave, and he tried to stop her. He said that Brittany then bit his left arm, and he started to hit her in the back of the head.
“At this point, Brittany grabbed a knife and stabbed him in the right hand. While I was talking with (him), I noticed a good amount of blood on the floor in the house. I asked (him) if he knew where Brittany went, and he said that he did not,” the officer alleged in his affidavit for an arrest warrant that was issued on May 19.
In a separate affidavit regarding the alleged theft of his roommate’s wallet, Stillwater Police Officer Chris Howell wrote that he was dispatched to assist on the stabbing on May 6.
The stabbing victim’s roommate “told me that personal items of his had been stolen the previous night, which is why the stabbing had taken place,” the officer alleged in his affidavit.
The roommate “went on to tell me that he has known Brittany Flint for a number of years and knew her parents. (He) stated that Flint frequently stays at his apartment,” the officer wrote in his affidavit.
The roommate said that on the previous night between 10 pm and shortly before midnight, “Flint had been in the apartment and been in the area where his wallet and contents had been,” the affidavit alleged.
He said “no one else had been in the apartment besides for his roommate. I asked if he had seen Flint take his missing items, and he told me no. (He) told me that his roommate stays in his room, and he had gone to the restroom, which left Flint by herself in the living room.
“(He) told me that his wallet had been sitting on the table by the TV and his bag of loose tobacco was also in the living room. I asked (him) if he wished to pursue charges for the theft, and he stated he did,” the officer wrote in his affidavit.
