(Stillwater, Okla.) – A Cushing man has been given a 10-year prison term for molesting a young female relative who reported the sexual abuse to her school counselor, court records show.
Antonio Ocampo Rosales, 43, who pleaded guilty last week to child molestation, must serve 8.5 years before becoming eligible for parole under state law. After his release, Rosales will be on probation for 10 years and must register as a sex offender for life, Associate District Judge Stephen Kistler ordered.
Rosales was arrested at 6:06 p.m. on Dec. 12, 2017, at his home in the 1100 block of E. Moses Street by Cushing Police Officer Carson Watts, court records show.
The girl’s mother had obtained an emergency protective order against Rosales on Dec. 14, 2017, that was made final a week later, court records show.
The then 14-year-old girl told her school counselor that Rosales had been fondling her for about two years, a Department of Human Services employee advised the Cushing police officer, according to Watts’ affidavit.
After the girl told her mother what had been happening to her, Rosales “got on his knees and begged for forgiveness,” the affidavit said.
When the Cushing officer interviewed Rosales, “he told me ‘I was drunk and stupid,’” Watts wrote in his affidavit.
“I asked Antonio if he believed he may have a drinking problem and he said, ‘I guess,’” Watts wrote in his affidavit.
“I asked Antonio how much he drinks and he told me he drinks every day after work and may drink maybe six to 12 beers,” Watts wrote in his affidavit.
