(Cushing, Okla.) It’s ‘Ready, Set, Go!’ for the Cushing fireworks display on July 4th. According to Fire Chief Chris Pixler, the display will start around dark and last approximately 25 minutes.
Cushing firefighters have been working to prepare the fireworks for firing Wednesday evening. The shells will be shot from just north of Cushing Regional Airport. Fire department officials traveled to Pittsburgh, Kansas to pick up the fireworks from J & M Fireworks.
Capt. Franklin Reed, who is licensed by the Kansas State Fire Marshall’s Office, will lead a team of local fire department personnel licensed and trained by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms in running the show and launching the rockets.
