(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Cushing couple accused of possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute, as well as having digital scales, have been ordered to appear in court on Tuesday with an attorney.

Romana Antonette “Annette” Delatorre, 49, remains held on $50,000 bail, while her boyfriend, Vince Hamilton Herd, 41, remains held on $25,000 bail, a sheriff’s spokesman told KUSH Monday. If convicted, each could be given as much as a life prison sentence plus one year and a $101,000 fine.

The pair were arrested at 9:43 a.m. on May 9 in the two-apartment-style residence in which the utilities are all in Delatorre’s name, Payne County Sheriff’s Investigator Brandon Myers wrote in an affidavit.

A team of sheriff’s deputies with the assistance of Cushing police served a search warrant of Delatorre’s residence that Myers had sought and obtained, the affidavit said.

Delatorre had been convicted of possessing substances with intent to manufacture methamphetamine in 2012 and given a five-year prison term followed by two years of probation, Myers’ affidavit said.

Delatorre and Herd were found in a bedroom of the upstairs apartment, where a digital scale was at the foot of the bed along with a purse containing a blue book with a drug ledger page in it, the affidavit alleged.

A camera case next to the bed on a wooden chest had a zipper-style bag containing a crystal substance with the total weight of 14.56 grams, the affidavit alleged. In the same case, another bag had 11 small bags containing a crystal substance with the price of each bag marked on them, the affidavit alleged. The bag containing the small bags weighed 8.93 grams, the affidavit alleged.

The blue bag also had 14 one-dollar bills and two $20 bills, the affidavit alleged.

On the dresser were three bags containing a residual substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, the affidavit alleged.

On the TV stand of the bedroom, there was a mirror with a razor blade, straw and a small amount of crystal substance field-tested as methamphetamine, the affidavit alleged.

Three more digital scales were located in the upstairs apartment — one on the kitchen bar and two more in the living area, the affidavit alleged.

In the mudroom/laundry room, the sheriff’s investigator located a gun box containing a .50 caliber muzzle loader rifle with a scope, the affidavit alleged.

A small red round zipper pouch was found in Herd’s jeans pocket after he was arrested, the affidavit alleged.

“In the red case were two small bags and a small dark glass vial. Each item had a small amount of crystal substance that tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine,” the affidavit alleged.

Mail in the name of Herd, who had a Kansas driver’s license, was located in the downstairs apartment where Delatorre’s son was found; a search was conducted in the downstairs apartment, but no items were seized, the affidavit alleged.
