Cushing City Commissioners are considering allowing alternative vehicles such as golf carts on city streets. Commissioners held a study session last night prior to the regularly scheduled weekly meeting and held a discussion on allowing golf carts to be driven on city streets. The alternative vehicles would be prohibited from some of the busier streets such as main, broadway or little streets. Commissioners also discussed whether the vehicles should be equipped with turn signals and brake lights….but have reached no decisions.
Commissioners also discussed a possible garage sale ordinance. Commissioners are considering limiting the number of garage sales at a specific residence to five per year….they also discussed a permit fee of five dollars, but decided no permit fee would be charged. Further discussions are planned on both subjects.
Also last night a city owned fire department vehicle was declared surplus, and approval given to donate it to the city of Perkins for their fire department. And commissioners approved a new one year lease agreement for management services at Cushing Regional Airport with Jim Clements doing businesses as Cushing Flight Service, Inc.
