(Cushing, Okla.) The City of Cushing held a Retirement Party today (April 25th, 2018) for Carol Ann Dennis who was a city employee for over 35 years. Carol and her husband Tommy moved to Cushing 43 years ago and have one daughter (Kristin Beitz), a son in-law (Mark Beitz), and a granddaughter age 11 (Kaylin), and a grandson age 7 (Jensen).
Fire Chief Chris Pixler, along with other fire department employees, police, city employees, family and personal friends were on hand to greet and wish Carol well in her retirement. Approximately 65 well-wishers stopped by the Safety Center to honor her and her service to the community. Along with other cards and gifts, Carol was presented a beautiful quilt made from the shirts of the firefighters.
Carol began her career with the City of Cushing as a Dispatcher/Clerk a position in which she continued to work in that same capacity since 1982.
Carol has been the smiling face that you have seen for years behind the front desk at the Cushing Fire Department (Safety Center). You could be assured she was willing to visit with the public about anything from billing, to general questions, and in times of crisis, Carol could be found dispatching.
Carol said she plans to stay busy – cleaning house, volunteering, playing with her grand kids, working on hobbies, hanging out with friends, playing cards, scrabble, and dominoes, etc.
