Recently this question has been raised in the community: “Is the firetruck that is being used as a campaign sign by one of the candidates for city commissioner a symbol of endorsement by the Cushing Fire Department?”
According to the president of the local firefighters union the answer is “No.”
In a brief interview with Joseph Hale, president of the local (IAFF) 2565, he stated, “The firefighters union does not necessarily endorse one candidate over the other – nor is the firetruck on Main Street affiliated in any way with our local. Several of our firefighters, including myself, have been asked this question. We hope this will clear it up.”
