(Stillwater, Okla.)  It looks like singer/songwriter Bo Phillips will be getting a tattoo.  He has been telling his Facebook friends that if his single “Red Dirt Girl” went number one on the Texas Music chart, he would get his first tattoo.  Phillips announced Friday, Aug. 10, 2012 that he will indeed be getting his first “ink” – Red Dirt Girl made it to number 1 on the Texas Chart.  The cut is from his latest CD “Fishin’ With Grandpa”.

KUSH announced the exciting news on the Donna & Molly Show, Friday, followed by airing of the popular song.

Although he was born in Texas, and raised in southeastern Oklahoma, Phillips calls Stillwater home.  He is an Oklahoma State University graduate and spent six years teaching high school agriculture before pursuing his lifelong dream as a musician full time.

Some may say Red Dirt music is in his blood (Stoney LaRue is his brother).  He got his first guitar at age 9, but says he didn’t seriously start pursuing his musical path until he moved to Stillwater where he was “immersed in the culture.”
