Professor “B” Looney is arriving at the Cushing Public Library Monday, June 9 at 6:30 p.m. and according to librarian La Dawn Conner, he just “loves to be Looney with bee loonies.”

Balloons, that is.

The Professor can make just about anything out of balloons. Every summer he visits the library with his balloon art, his magic and his puppets! This year’s theme is all about bugs and books… “Catch the Reading Bug!” The Professor will be making bugs out of balloons and finding out what bugs you like and what books you are reading – and maybe even make your favorite insect out of balloons!

If you catch the Professor reading, he is likely to say, “Don’t Bug Me!”

Since the Professor also likes magic and puppets, you can be sure there will be some magical bugs and some special bug puppets. And because he is Professor “B” Looney, you will have fun learning about insects and other bugs.

Stephen Smith, who plays Professor “B” Looney, has been performing around Oklahoma for almost 30 years. He is a balloon artist, a silly magician, a ventriloquist and builds most of his own puppets.

The program which is free and open to the public is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, and by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, Sonic – America’s Drive-In Corp, and The Oklahoman.
