MEDIA RELEASE

(Stillwater, Okla)If you want to have a part in Stillwater’s tourism, good news: the Stillwater Economic Development Authority (SEDA) is seeking three citizens to serve on the Tourism Advisory Committee. Of the three citizens accepted, one must be affiliated with the Stillwater hotel or tourism industry.

The committee is tasked with advising the SEDA board on best practices for tourism development and the use of hotel/motel room tax revenues. Committee members will annually review the performance of contractors with the City of Stillwater regarding the tourism industry and assist SEDA with the development of long-range plans for tourism.

The deadline to apply is Nov.1, 2019. Members will serve a three-year term. The seven-member board includes the Stillwater City Manager, representatives from Visit Stillwater and Oklahoma State University, and a member appointed by SEDA to serve as chair.

Stillwater City Councilors, acting as trustees of SEDA, will appoint members from the submitted applications.
