(Cushing, Okla.)  It’s almost Independence Day and time to Celebrate America!  Here are some of the activities going on around the area.

 

Cushing will be celebrating America all day on Wednesday, July 4th, starting with a parade in downtown at 10 am.  The fun will move on to Memorial Park with a car show from noon – 4pm; vendors and activities including Face Painting, Watermelon & Hot Dog Eating Contest with prizes, Monster Truck, and music!  Free swimming at the water park from 1 – 2:50 pm and 3:20 – 5 pm.  An area will be available for those with special needs, courtesy of Mills Construction.  On stage – 2 PLUS Variety Show, Urban Addiction, Brandi Reloaded Band and Cushing’s own Charlie Hickman Band.  Fireworks show at dusk!  For more information call 918-399-5944.

 

Drumright will be hosting a 4th of July celebration in Whitlock Park starting at 6 pm with a cookout – free hotdogs, watermelon, popcorn and water!  The splash pad will be open for the little ones, along with music for everyone to enjoy.  Fireworks show at dusk!

 

Pawnee will hold its annual Games on the Square in downtown starting at 8 am on the 4th.  Bring the entire family for all the old-fashioned fun!   Fireworks display at approximately 10 pm.

 

Stillwater will host the Chickasaw Boomer Blast Fireworks display on July 4th at Boomer Lake Park.  Residents are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and blankets to sit back and enjoy the free show.  Parking is free at the Stillwater High School Stadium and Boomer Lake Park will only be open to pedestrians.  A shuttle will run from the High School parking lot to Boomer Lake from 7 – 10:45 pm.  Show starts at dark!

 

Cleveland will hold its Freedom Celebration with music and fireworks, Thursday, July 5th.

 

 Keystone State Park, Sand Springs, Fireworks at the Marina – July 6th.

 

Glencoe will hold their fireworks display on July 7th at Boyd Davidson Park in Glencoe.
