(Cushing, Okla) — The Cushing Chamber of Commerce and the oil and gas industry is gearing up for the 24th annual BBQ n Blues Festival this Saturday, June 8, 2019!

During the Thursday and Friday portion of the Festival, the Cushing Chamber hosts a Clay Shoot Tournament with 72 teams, a Golf Tournament with 100 teams, a Thursday Night Vanco BBQ n Blues After Hours, and a Friday Night Private Party Trade Show. These events are only open to the BBQ n Blues participating Pipeline Companies and secondary Oil and Gas Industry suppliers that work directly with the Pipeline Companies.  All attendees MUST have a wrist band in order to get in to the Friday night Trade Show.  *KUSH will be broadcasting LIVE from the Friday night private party thanks to Alliance Tank Services.  You can listen at 1600 on your AM dial or just click the Listen Live link or tunein link on our website.  Friday night bands are the Morgan Band and the Brave Amigos!

Saturday, however, is open to everyone!  The Festival starts at 11 a.m. and ends at approximately 3 p.m.  Be sure to get there early to purchase your barbecue taster kit because the brisket goes fast!  Taster kits are only $5 each and you get a commemorative Frisbee-type disc to hold your barbecue, along with a bag full of swag!  T-shirts, tank tops and refillable cups are available for purchase at the Cushing Chamber of Commerce  or at the event.  But you will want to purchase your shirts in advance to make sure you are able to get the size you want!
The music kicks off at 11 a.m. with the popular Dustin Pittsley Band. “Dustin Pittsley, the white hot axe man and songwriter, is often compared to the likes of Warren Haynes, Hendrix and Clapton.”  Pittsley was raised in Chandler and his band is based in Tulsa.  He hosts the Stone River Music Festival in Chandler each year.  Check out the Dustin Pittsley Band performing at the International Blues Challenge in 2013 : Dustin Pittsley Band and in Memphis in 2018:  Where I’ve Been
Another Tulsa-based blues band, The Hydramatics, will take the stage following the Dustin Pittsley Band to finish out the BBQ n Blues Festival.  Get a sampling of their great sound here: Hydramatics @ Soul City
Known for their “West Coast Jump Blues,” the Hydramatics are sure to “get your fingers poppin’ and your feet movin’!”
