(Cushing, Okla) — Cushing Regional Hospital Foundation President LeRoy Kalka announced that this year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon has been canceled due to COVID-19.
This would have been the 19th year for the Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon. Since its beginning in October of 2001, BCAL has not only raised awareness, but thousands of dollars to assist local women (and men) with screenings, travel, and other expenses associated with breast cancer. Each year baskets of goodies and other items have been donated by local businesses and individuals for the silent and live auction associated with the annual fundraiser. Other highlights of the event include members of the Cushing Fire Department serving lunch to the attendees and the honoring of breast cancer survivors.
The annual Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon is expected to return in October of 2021 with a big 20 year celebration.
