The First Assembly of God, located at 504 E. Walnut, is known to have some of the best cooks in town. Each month the women put together a fundraiser serving up good food and fellowship for a mere $5. April’s luncheon consisted of baked potatoes with all the trimmings – butter, sour cream, bacon bits, cheese, chili, broccoli – you name it, they probably offered it. A dessert and drink also came with the heaping potato.
Friday, May 2 will be the last luncheon of the season, which will allow the women to take a summer break. It will feature all sorts of salads including chicken salad, tuna salad, taco salad, etc.
Mmmmmmmmm….
