First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Cushing, honored Mrs. J. Lyall (Mary Louise) Smith during Worship on Sunday morning, June 7th, for her 60 years of music accomplishments.
Mary Louise Pancoast Smith started playing the organ and piano for the church in 1949 and continues to share her talent every Sunday morning. She joined the church when she was 7 years old and in addition to serving as organist, she serves as an elder and is on the church board along with being active in the Women’s Disciple Fellowship group. She has served on various committees throughout her church life including being a Youth sponsor for several years. She is a realtor and also a member of the local Geographic Club and PEO.
Dr. Larry B. Haney, minister of the church presented Mary Louise a plaque designating her 60 year music accomplishment along with flowers and a gift from the church.
