Week 10: Frontier Bowl
Our guest this Friday was Bryan Holstrom, the General Manager of Frontier Bowl. His wife Linda – just a little shy – was not with him but you can find her at the bowling alley on any given day. Bryan is a cheerful soft-spoken former football player from Eugene, Oregon and his wife Linda, sweet as can be, is from Morrison, Oklahoma.
The Holstroms are big on families spending time together. Bryan is the Youth League Coordinator and loves to get involved with the kids in the community. Together, he and his wife make the most of fun we have to offer right here in Cushing. From supporting the youth through the United States Bowling Congress, to parties, events, glow bowling, gggggreat food and bowling specials. The USBC helps children earn points and $$money$$ towards college or tech Schools. The signs you see on the walls are sponsors of this program. One hundred percent of the money to purchase a sign goes to the USBC.
Frontier Bowl is located at 521 E. Pine St (N. on Hwy 18) and is open 7 days a week. They are open from 11am – 10pm Sunday – Wednesday, 11am – 11pm Thursday and 11 am – midnight Friday & Saturday.
There has been some remodeling and upgrades to the bowling alley since Bryan took over as manager. They like to think of the bowling alley as Cushing’s Family Fun Center. Birthday parties are a big hit for everyone. Sometimes they have DJs and set up a dance floor. Catering is also available – Bryan himself has been known to smoke ribs and do some fancy cooking. Their menu is delicious.
If you’re looking for a bowling ball of your own – they carry a full line of balls and supplies.
Weekly specials include:
Tuesdays & Thursdays from 8pm – 11pm you can bowl for $1.50 and rent shoes for $1.50. AND Family Sundays, up to five people 1 hour of bowling and 1 large pizza for $20. Friday and Saturday night…Glow Bowling! The lights go out, the music goes up and the fun begins! I should know…it is one of my favorite places and it is becoming increasingly popular in town.
