Frontier Bowl Manager Bryan Holstrom and his assistant Raymond Grimm share some reeeeally good news with us all today on the Business Spotlight. Bryan Holstrom applied for a government grant for a mechanical training program here in Cushing at Frontier Bowl. He qualified, and implementation of this program is scheduled to begin in August. That means approximately $3.6 million a year for the next 3 years in revenue for my favorite of all places, Cushing America. The program will train 100 students per 12-week session and that would be approx. 12 sessions per year. Way to go Bryan!
Frontier Bowl is still our favorite family fun center. Bryan has been managing Frontier Bowl since last July. If you have not been in the bowling alley lately, you will be amazed at all the changes. New lanes, more seating, new ball retrieval system, placement of balls. The gang at Frontier bowl has been working so hard and now it is finally ready for action! Not only do we have the nicest water park, country club, golf course, dinner theater, youth center, park…well the bowling alley is right up there with all our cities finest and fantastic attractions.
There is so much going on at Frontier Bowl that people might not know about. Those signs you see along the walls of the bowling lanes…they are the sponsors of the Youth Program. The Youth program raises money for qualifying youth to go to college, Vo-tech, and numerous educations programs. Bryan and his very sweet wife Linda are very passionate about helping the youth in our community. At times, they are able to travel with some of the youths to tournaments and events, and they have a lot of fun.
Bryan and Linda are dedicated to keeping the bowling alley safe, secure and maintaining a family oriented atmosphere. Yep, you can get a beer, and the food. You know how the KUSH girls like to talk about food. Pizza, hot wings, stromboli, calzone, fried mozzarella stick and mushrooms, burgers, chicken strips and so much more. From time to time Bryan has been known to fire up the smoker and put on a great party. Ribs, chicken, brisket…a whole hog!
Bryan loves this community! He talked a lot about the nice people he has met, and the support he has gotten from the community. That is what it is all about. I don’t mean to get mushy, but that’s the best part about Cushing is the togetherness and the feeling your not alone. There is always someone ready to lend a hand. I have found Cushing to be one of the biggest hearted communities I have ever experienced. Bryan, Linda, and all the staff at Frontier Bowl fit right in.
Sorry I did not mention much about my old schoolmate, Raymond Grimm but Bryan and I were so excited about everything going on at Frontier Bowl that he never got the chance to speak. So, we will have them back on…during the year they may have a Rock and Roll themed party, there are prize giveaways and always something going on at the bowling alley. So we’ll try to keep you informed..
Go on down and see the Holstroms, and Raymond, and Ashley. Book a party. There are always certified couches there ready to help a youngster anytime learn the basics of bowling. Or, just go down and visit and enjoy all the fun at Cushing’s Family Fun Center. Remember Sunday: Bowling and Pizza for only $20.00.
