Week 16: Charles Murrow with Murrow Real Estate & Auction LLC.

All the way from what he calls the, “flatlands”, Mr Charles Murrow and his team came to Cushing from Alva to auction off 52 plus residential building lots at the Country Club Vista Estates.

This last Saturday, at 10a.m., about 15 prospective buyers gathered at the Cushing Country Club to put in their bids. Armed with donuts and hot coffee, Mr Murrow began the day’s bidding of what I consider some of the most desirable land in all of Oklahoma.

Murrow had been to Cushing a few weeks earlier to view the land and came to the station to record his commercial. He is no stranger to the mike! His interview the day before the auction was held, gave us a little taste of his expertise as an auctioneer. He was a great guest, telling us how they hold their auctions indoor at the fairgrounds in Alva, with comfortable seating and the items for auction are cleaned and carefully displayed bringing the premium price.

I told him that while he was in town to be sure and go see our train depot, golf course, dinner theater, Flank Lloyd Wright homes and I urged Mr. Murrow, when he asked about lodging to check out the Tatanka Ranch. And I reminded him of the vineyards close by that are INTERNATIONAL gold medal winners as well as some of the best vineyards the state has to offer. I also made sure to tell him to come back for the play at Cushing Community Theatre and said there would be a new production next weekend. I also told him and it’s catered by the famous Josephs steak house. Unfortuantely, a previous engagement, let him off the hook. Well since this story is about Murrow Real estate and not us
