Former massage therapist sent to prison for possessing child sexual abuse material

STILLWATER — A former massage therapist has been sentenced to five years in prison followed by 15 years of probation for possessing 100 or more images and videos of child sexual abuse material, with a concurrent five-year prison term for distributing child pornography through Kik accounts between Sept. 29, 2024, and Feb. 20, 2025.

   Artie Enlow Smith III, 26, of Stillwater, had pleaded guilty to both counts without an agreement with the prosecution regarding his penalty. Smith was sentenced Friday by Payne County Associate District Judge Michael Kulling, who ordered him to register as a sex offender after his release from prison.

   Smith, a 2019 graduate of Stillwater High School, was employed as a massage therapist from 2024 until his arrest in 2025, according to a pre-sentencing investigation. Smith was an assembly line worker from 2023 to 2024.

   In the summer of 2023, Smith was a camp counselor electrician at Kids Across America. From 2021 to 2023, Smith was employed as an inventory associate for a hospital, the report said.

   “The minor victims in this case are unknown,” according to the pre-sentencing investigation.

   Smith was arrested at his residence at 8:26 am on June 11, 2025, by Stillwater Police Detective Stephanie Wheeler, who had obtained multiple search warrants during a months-long investigation, according to an affidavit.

   “During the interrogation, Smith admitted to creating about 10 Kik accounts. He admitted to receiving and sending child sexual abuse material in messages through these accounts, the affidavit said.
