(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / April 16, 2020) – Among other agenda items, Stillwater City Council is holding a public hearing on the City’s budget Monday, April 20 at 5:30 p.m. Residents are encouraged to view the City’s manager’s proposed operating budget and provide input by signing up to speak at the online meeting.
The FY21 proposed budget was created before the COVID-19 pandemic began. As a result, the City anticipates frequent amendments to adjust for changes in revenue as the pandemic situation evolves. The final adoption vote for the Fiscal Year 2021 budget will be held on May 18.
Beyond the public hearing on City budget, City Council, Stillwater Utilities Authority and Stillwater Economic Authority will hold special meetings. The meetings will be held entirely over Zoom, a videoconference platform. Residents should watch virtually— there will be no meeting on-site at the Stillwater Municipal Building.
City Council will discuss and take action on a variety of items, including bid recommendations for road improvements at 32nd Avenue, Main Street, and Western Road; utility relocations as part of improvements to Perkins Road; and discussion of COVID-19. The Stillwater Utilities Authority agenda includes a solid waste rate study. The Stillwater Economic Development Authority will hear a Quarterly Economic Development Report from the Chamber of Commerce.
