James “Jim” Sumner Divine passed away May 28, 2008 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 83 years.
Funeral services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing and will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 30, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Cushing with burial to follow in the Euchee Valley Memorial Park.
Jim was born in Noble County, OK on February 8, 1925, being one of nine children, by his parents Samuel Divine and Georgia (Sumner) Divine. Jim Graduated from Pryor High School in 1941 and enlisted in the United States Army Air Force where he served as a member of the flight crew of the B-26 bomber “Flak Bait” in the European Theatre in WWII. Jim graduated from the University of Oklahoma, School of Pharmacy in 1950. He was the Owner of the City Drug Store in Cushing until his retirement in 1993. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Evelyn Mae Divine; two sons, Tom Divine and wife Karen of Edmond and Jim Divine and wife Abha of Austin, TX; three grandchildren, Matthew, Chase, and Shaunk; sister Georgia Donohoo of Ponca City, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
