(Stillwater) -- A Payne County jury has recommended a four-year prison term and a $5,000 fine for a Stillwater man convicted of secretly videotaping a relative in various stages of undress in 2008.

Julius Edwards, 55, remains free on $10,000 bond pending his sentencing on Feb. 19 before District Judge Donald Worthington, who has ordered a pre-sentencing investigation.

At the close of a three-day jury trial last week, Edwards was found guilty of unlawful use of electronic equipment on Aug. 20, 2008, court records show.

As a result of the victim's report to police in September 2008, a search warrant was issued for Edwards' residence where several VHS tapes were seized, Stillwater Police Detective Sgt. Jeff Watts wrote in an affidavit.

When Edwards was interviewed by Stillwater police in October 2008, Edwards said he did place a hidden camera in a vent about the relative's bed, according to Watts' affidavit.

The victim has filed a restitution recovery form for $3,000 in counseling costs, court records show.
