(Stillwater, Okla) - The Payne County Board of Commissioners will consider calling an election that would give voters a chance to decide whether to allow the sale of alcoholic beverages on Sundays.
The item is on the agenda for Monday morning's meeting of the Payne County Board of Commissioners set for 9:00 AM at the County Administration Building.
Currently in Payne County, the sale of alcoholic beverages in excess of 3.2 per cent alcohol content is prohibited on Sunday.
From the agenda for Monday's meeting:
Resolution No. 2012-48 calling a special election to refer to the qualified voters of Payne County the question of whether alcoholic beverages should be permitted to be sold by the individual drink for on-premises consumption in Payne County on Sunday; and providing a proposed ballot title for such question.
Also on the agenda is a request from Wings of Hope for use of the County Courthouse lawn.
