
Elaine Emily Black, 78, died on August 3, 2012 in Perkins, Oklahoma. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 6, 2012 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Perkins, Oklahoma with Gene Herndon officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Glencoe, Oklahoma. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Elaine was born on November 22, 1933 in Mitchell, South Dakota to Charles Joseph and Emily Martha (Schilling) Bissey. She graduated from Wheatridge High School in Wheatridge, Colorado before joining the Navy in 1952; she was honorably discharged as a Seaman Apprentice one year later. She married fellow Navy comrade Doyle LeRoy Black in Clayton, New Mexico on August 2, 1953. She was a loving and caring mom to all. Elaine was a part of the DAV Auxiliary as well as a member of the Perkins Assembly of God where she played the piano.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Black, in 1996, and son, Bobby Joe Black, in 2006.
She is survived by her three sons, Johnny LeRoy, Darrell Charles, and Billy Clyde Black, all of Perkins, OK; daughter, Carol Elaine Black of Dumas, TX; and brother, Ronald Charles Bissey, of Hemet, CA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Misty M. Followill, of Perkins, OK; Wesley Chad Black, of Perkins, OK; Leslie Carol Hunter, of Fritch, TX; Roger Dwain Black, of Perkins, OK; Crystal Lee Duncan, of Ripley, OK; Laura E. and Bradley C. Phillips, of Dumas, TX; and Billy Ray Black, of Mesa, AZ; and sixteen great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Kirstin, Laken, Gage, Cameron, Bryce, Bobbie, Chad, Matthew, Luke, Cypress, Kayla, Ashley, Kora, Linsey, and A.J.
