(Stillwater, Okla.) -- An arrest warrant has been issued for a Stillwater man who is accused of punching his girlfriend in the mouth and repeatedly punching her mother -- who suffered a broken bone below her right eye.

Because of a prior domestic abuse conviction in Cherokee County in 2005, Joshua Lee Self, 31, could receive a 14-year prison term if convicted of his current felony domestic violence charges in Payne County.

Three Stillwater police officers were sent to a unit at Forty North Apartments about 4:20 p.m. on June 4 on a report of domestic abuse in progress, court records show.

Self's girlfriend and her mother said that Self "had hit both of them and left the apartment," Stillwater Police Officer Matt Rouse alleged in an affidavit.

The girlfriend said that she lived with her mother and Self at the apartment in Stillwater -- where they had just moved to a couple of weeks previously, the affidavit said.

She said that Self was upset because he wanted to spend time with her, while she wanted to spend time with her brother and sister, the affidavit said.

"She advised that he got mad at her and hit her in the face with a closed fist," while she was lying down, the affidavit alleged.

When her mother came into the bedroom, Self hit her mother with a closed fist three times, she told police, the affidavit alleged.

Her mother was taken by ambulance to the Stillwater Medical Center where a physician said that she had a broken bone just below her right eye, the affidavit said.

Her mother also had swelling on two different places on her forehead, as well as swelling and bruising on and below her right eye, the affidavit said.

The mother told police that she was asleep when she heard, "don't you hit me; don't you ever hit me,'" the affidavit said.

She said that when she went into her daughter's bedroom, Self hit her daughter in the face with a closed fist, the affidavit alleged.

The mother said that she went to get between the two, but Self hit the mother so hard that it knocked her to the floor, the affidavit alleged.

The mother "told me that it is a good possibility that when Joshua hit her, she lost consciousness. She said he hit her three more times in the face and forehead with a closed fist," before leaving the apartment, the affidavit alleged.

Her daughter had a cut to her bottom lip, the affidavit said.
